Magnesium Test Kit – Aqua One
- Testing Accuracey to 15ppm
- Performs upto 45 Tests
- Designed for the Marine Aquarium
Magnesium is one of the mots abundant elements in seawater. It plays an important role in preventing precipitation of calcium ad carbonate therefore in keeping both of these high enough concentrations to maximise growth of corals and other calcifying organisms.
Magnesium should be maintained in a marine aquarium at levels between 1200-1400 ppm. At levels below this, growth of calcifying organisms may be reduced and calcium and carbonate levels may drop.
Because magnesium concentrations affect the concentrations of both calcium and carbonates, the calcium and carbonate hardness of the aquarium should be tested in conjunction with the magnesium.
